We are in a restaurant. The waitress welcomes us. The table is set to reveal the tale of a modern princess. We are in urban Liverpool; in a kingdom where you are better off in a gang than on your own, where famine and unemployment have devastated the landscape and where the spinning wheel has been replaced by the needle.
