Oksana Yanovsky

Costume, set, and props designer

Oksana Yanovsky is a graduate of the artistic and spatial design program in M.B. Grekov Odessa Art School, Ukraine.

Oksana has many years of experience: she started her career at a studio for interior design in the city of Krivoy Rog, Ukraine, and proceeded to the Petrushka Puppet Theater in Chelyabinsk, Russia.  There she designed and created costumes, puppets and sets, and gained extensive experience working in over 20 productions alongside the designers Yelena Lushchenko, Alexander Yechin, Alexander Yanovitzky, and the directors V. Velekhovsky,  Khosit, Igor Rayn, and Visilov. Some of the productions she took part in include: A Midsummer Night's Dream, The Emperor's Nightingale, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Insects' Life, I, Faust and The Stork and the Scarecrow.

In Israel, she designed for productions of various theater companies:

  • The Shambara Group's show Little People, as part of the 2006 Israel Festival
  • Diwan El Lajun Theater's Hebrew-Arabic productions The Son of the Merchant and The Little Oil Lamp.
  • Habima National Theater, props for the show Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat
  • Hameshulash Theater for the shows White On White, Mother Of All Living, Thumbelina, Spirit And Matter, Run Rabbit Run.

Since 2009, she has been collaborating with Leonid Elisov, and their work was featured in the exhibition "The Wonder of Puppets" in Haifa. They have designed and created costumes, puppets and props for the Jerusalem Khan Theater, the Noa Dar Dance Group, Michal Svironi, The Cameri Theater, Nissan Nativ Acting Studio, and others.

She also leads workshops for children, women, and elderly people.
