Contemporary adaptation of a 17th century dybbuk story
A young Tel Avivian named Alma begins to learn Yiddish through a cellular application, which infects her with a Diasporic spirit. Alma is shaken like a marionette between her Israeli identity and her nostalgic yearning for a lost Jewish-Diasporic identity. Through play between humor and terror, the show deals with the issue of identity, immigration and language in the digital age.
Exceptional humor, puppets, music, movement and video projections.
The play was developed during a residency at the Sholem Asch House in Bat Yam, Hahanut Theater Gallery, and TheaterLab in New York.
