Based on the book Two Rivers and the Big Sea by Haim Ascher
“I presented copies of my memoirs to family members and acquaintances,” Haim Ascher wrote to his granddaughter, “but most of the books are just gathering dust on the shelf.”
Among the dry, lengthy descriptions and lists, in the space between the written and spoken word, his granddaughter tries ― with the help of props, letters and puppets ― to decipher his writing and find empathy with her grandfather.
