Songs Grow Here
The show was initiated by and created in collaboration with the National LibraryHow is a song born?
Two young poets search for books about their favorite Hebrew songs, meeting three songs of beloved Hebrew poets:
Leah Goldberg looks out at a white flower from a distant land, remembering how she came to Israel from afar, and wrote “Pizmon LaYakinton”; Ehud Manor wrote “Brosh Levado” about the Cypress tree he missed from his childhood home; Miriam Yalan-Stekelis wrote “Danny Gibor” when thinking how to write about love.
We learn about the excitement and pain involved in writing songs.
